Mindful Art 2

Work in various art mediums while learning how to practice mindfulness.  Begin class with a guided meditation, followed by an art project using a different medium each week, including small projects with basket weaving, Japanese rock wrapping, and creative drawing. Learn how to practice mindfulness not only in your artmaking, but in your everyday lives. Students are encouraged to complete Mindful Art 1 prior to this class.

Weekend Watercolors

Enjoy a relaxing Saturday while learning the therapeutic art of watercolor painting. Learn useful techniques such as layering, creating luminosity, and working with white space. All levels are welcome in this laid-back class.

  • 4 H pencil and kneaded eraser
  • Watercolor paper; 140 pound to 300-pound, rough/cold press (individual sheets* or watercolor blocks)

  • Rags or paper towels
  • Masking tape
  • A flat watercolor palette with multiple wells
  • Flat watercolor brushes, mop brush, and a script brush or liner

Please bring your own photographic images to paint from each week.

*If using individual sheets of paper, you will need a drawing board to attach the paper to.

Beginner Colored Pencil

Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw with colored pencils but didn’t know where to start? During this condensed four-week class, students will be introduced to techniques essential to drawing with the colored pencil medium. The class will consist of two separate projects, helping the students establish a necessary foundation on which to expand their skills.

Beginner Sewing

Learn the basics of using a sewing machine in order to create functional pieces with fabric. Practice stitching and create simple items such as scrunchies, pillowcases, and tote bags.

Weave a beautiful macrame tapestry to compliment any room in your home!  You’ll be led through the step-by-step process of weaving the tapestry by learning how to read a macrame pattern. You will utilize the Lark’s Head, Square, and Half Square knots. Create this beautiful Macrame wall hanging in one class with us! Enjoy the process and the result for years to come.
