Intro to Broom Making: Cobweb Broom

Make a cobweb broom in the traditional style, this lightweight broom is great for reaching cobwebs. These brooms are functional but make great decorative items, and great gifts! Learn the basic weaving techniques used to make a broom, with natural broomcorn (sorghum) and organic handles. Leave with a completed project, maybe two.   No experience is required for this project.

Broom Making 2: Besom Broom

In this workshop, students will make a sturdy broom suitable for cleaning floors. They’ll learn how to stitch a broom flat and work with larger projects to build confidence.

To get the most out of this workshop, it’s recommended that participants first complete the introduction to broom-making course. Students can bring their own stick/handle or choose from a range of options provided.

  • Flat watercolor brushes, mop brush, and a script brush or liner

Intermediate Oil Painting

Develop and hone your oil painting skills.  Using a subject of your choice, you will work on color choice, brush strokes, and will receive individualized attention.  Some drawing and painting experience is necessary.  Please bring reference photos.
