Let’s Begin Drawing

What is “looking”? Can you really see? How do you transfer what you see to what you are drawing? In this class, we will demonstrate the various techniques of drawing using the textbook Drawing on the right side of the brain. At the end of each class, students will share their work with the class and talk about the creative process from their point of view and their individual self-expression.

Digital Animation

Learn the basics of animation, some of the principles, and history. You will be introduced to animation software to make digital 2D animations! We will make a bouncing ball animation and learn different video file types.

Students will supply their own devices – tablets, ipads, a laptop with a drawing tablet are all fine, they just need certain software. These are the best free software options:

  • iPad – the AnimationDesk app
  • Laptop with drawing tablet – Opentoonz, and the tablet driver for their drawing pad

If you have another type of tablet, please let us know in the checkout comments beforehand so I can find them accessible software to use before the workshop.

Practical Animation
