Intermediate Oil Painting

Develop and hone your oil painting skills.  Using a subject of your choice, you will work on color choice, brush strokes, and will receive individualized attention.  Some drawing and painting experience is necessary.  Please bring reference photos.

Colored Pencil, Ink Drawing & More

Explore a variety of techniques in colored pencil, ink, and mixed media. Through class projects, demonstrations, and individual instruction, the instructor will help students build on their skills, strengths, and interests with an emphasis on helping each student develop their own individual style.

Students will have the option of working on class projects or working independently on projects of their own choice.

Supply List

  • Colored Pencils (Any brand, recommend at least the 36 pack of Prismacolors with an additional henna, cool and warm greys and colorless blender)
  • Bristol drawing paper  (smooth or vellum)
  • #2 pencil
  • Kneadable eraser
  • Micron or other brand pigma pens sizes: 005, 01 and 02
  • Portable pencil sharpener (battery preferred)
  • 12 inch ruler
  • Round stencil brushes
  • Turpenoid or solvent and q-tips

Additional supplies will be discussed during the first class.

Explore color through pastels at a beginner and intermediate level. Use traditional pastels as you learn how to mix colors and layering processes. Create still lifes and landscapes using a photo reference. Expand your skills through demonstrations and personal instruction.

Beginner Stained Glass

Explore the tools, strategies, and techniques used to cut and grind glass into your own custom designs. Foil, solder, and patina to finish your piece. This class is set up as a beginner class or a refresher class. No glass working experience is needed.

This class is construction based; hand strength and dexterity are required.

Advanced Watercolor

Learn how to paint the people, landscapes, animals, or flowers you love. Receive personal one on one attention as well as daily demonstrations are given in order to help you grow in experience as a watercolor artist. Some painting experience is required.

Other Supplies:

  • 4 H pencil and kneaded eraser
  • Watercolor paper. 140 to 300-pound, individual sheets or watercolor blocks (rough/cold press). If using individual sheets of paper, you will need a drawing board to attach the paper to.
  • Two plastic water containers
  • Rags or paper towels
  • Masking tape
  • Flat watercolor palette with multiple wells
  • Flat watercolor brushes, mop brush, and a script brush or liner.

Please bring your own photographic images to paint from each week.

Open Studio-Mixed Media Mosaics

Connect with fellow mosaic students while receiving guidance and support with your own self-directed mosaic projects.  Students will need to bring their own projects and materials to class. Based on student interests, instruction may be provided in experimenting and exploring a variety of mosaic materials and contemporary mixed-media mosaic methods.


Students should have some prior mosaic experience or have completed an introductory class in mosaic art. 
This class is construction based; hand strength and dexterity are required.

Students bring their own supplies to class. Some supplies such as thin-set mortar and hand tools will be available on a limited basis.
